MRP stickers mandatory on all technology products from November 25

From November 25, all technology products manufactured and imported in the country are coming under after-sales service. From that day it is mandatory to affix 'warranty sticker' on technology products. In the meantime, the director general of Consumer Rights has updated the warranty policy of technology products across the country to protect the interests of consumers and Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) has submitted the updated policy to HM Safikuzzaman. On Sunday, BCS president Subrata Sarkar handed over the warranty prepared on behalf of the organization to the Director General. The Secretary General of the organization, Kamruzzaman Bhuiyan, vice-president Md. Rashed Ali Bhuiyan and Deputy General Manager (DGM) Md. Hasanuzzaman was with him at that time. Deputy Secretary (Administration and Finance) of National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection Manzoor Mohammad Shahriar was also present in the meeting. During the meeting, the BCS president said that MRP stickers will be affixed on all technology products from November 25. Director General of Consumer Affairs Department H. M. Safikuzzaman welcomed this initiative. He said, BCS has always been working with the interests of consumers and traders of technology products. I welcome their initiative. Warranty and MRP policies are beneficial to both parties. In addition to the protection of consumer rights, traders will also benefit. On the other hand, BCS president Eng. Subrata Sarkar said, along with the warranty policy, we are also continuing the process of finalizing the MRP policy. BCS is encouraging technology dealers to affix MRP stickers on all technology products. Soon we will conduct a nationwide publicity campaign to attach MRP stickers. It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh Computer Association formulates warranty and MRP policies keeping in mind the import, marketing and customer satisfaction of technology products.
